Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born 6 May 1964. He was in the role of Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) in the third series of Sherlock, as well as Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he won the Reumert Prize of Honour At at the age of 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing's drama series. After that, he was a part of Borgen III and Those Who Kill, which were both critically popular Danish dramas. He also played a lead part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Magnussen.In the American television series House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his part in the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. It was aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019.
