Reese Witherspoon

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born March 22 1976) is an American actress. She has received many awards, including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people in the world in the years 2006 and 2015 and Forbes named her one of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women in the years 2019 and 2021. In 2021, Forbes named her the world's most successful actress, with an estimated fortune of $400 million.Witherspoon began her acting career as a teenager, making her debut as a screen actress in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she made her debut with the supporting role in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for playing Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. The actress gained more attention for her role as Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its 2003 sequel, and for her role in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). Her work was critically acclaimed, and she received the Academy Award for Best Actress in the role of June Carter Cash, in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a downturn in her career, during which her sole box-office achievement was the romantic drama Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback by producing and starring as Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014) that resulted in her being nominated for a second time for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Witherspoon is still working primarily in television and has performed and produced in a variety of adaptations of literary written by women under the name Hello Sunshine. These include Big Little Lies (2017-2018), The Morning Show (2019-20), and Little Fires Everywhere (2020), all HBO drama series. The first, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series. She produced the adaptations to film of Gone Girl (2014) as along with Where the Crawdads Sing (1922). Witherspoon also owns Draper James, a clothing business and is involved in advocacy organizations for children and women. She is a member of the Children's Defense Fund's board and was appointed Global Ambassador for Avon Products in 2007. In this capacity, she also serves as chair honorary for Avon Foundation's charitable foundation devoted to women's issues.
