Lucy Liu, an American voice actress, director, as well as a talented actress. Beautiful, intelligent and talented actress, she's a great example to Asian actors who want to become big names in Hollywood. The actress gained notoriety after numerous popular roles in shows. The most notable was her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. Her new-found fame was translated into roles that were filmed on the large screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. The actress also gave an outstanding performance in the role of Japanese criminal lord O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. In the same time frame she was the main character in several flops at the box office such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was able to play characters that were prominent in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen characters, failed to achieve much success. Southland was a critically acclaimed series of crime dramas that included Liu in multiple role, allowed her to reaffirm her as an actress. Liu has a lot of care when choosing her roles to ensure she's not a typecast. As much as she loves her culture, it hasn't limited her in her work being an artist.
